My mom kept the first story I ever wrote in the cabinet above the beach towels, bandaids, and the ashes from childhood pets I still don’t think we ever scattered. It was about the last apple left behind in the grocery display. The apple was lonely and sad, until the grocery workers carried it over to the dumpster, where it got to be friends with the last banana and orange left.
I’ve been a writer since I could remember, and added to that artist and designer as I progressed through school, eventually getting a degree in Architecture History from UC Berkeley (2016). I hope to work in communications for an environmental nonprofit in the future. Right now, I’m working on writing my debut novel Pink Pacific. During the week, I do freelance copywriting for designers and architects and on the weekends I work at a small shop in Ballard. For fun, I take photos and knit, sew, and embroider. As often as I can, I go sailing, and I used to live on a Newport 30 sailboat in the Bay Area with my partner and our cat, Tilikum.
